In the spring of 2005, prominent Vietnamese fortune teller Ha Smith and her daughter Anita Vo are found brutally stabbed to death inside their Orange County, CA home. In a puzzling twist, their killer has also poured white paint over their bodies. As detectives consider the possibility of a ritual killing, new purchases are being made on Ha Smith's credit cards. The money trail leads police to a North Carolina woman who also happens to be a client of Ha Smith.
